Karina Robinson, the author of this site, is the co-founder of Robinson Hambro. The firm specialises in board appointments and advisory services for boards. In 2010, Karina co-led the Board Practice at boutique search firm Saxton Bampfylde, advising on non-executive selection across all sectors. She was Senior Editor of The Banker magazine for eight years and the International Herald Tribune’s banking columnist. Her eponymous Karina’s Kolumn interview with heads of state and CEO’s was syndicated in the IHT.
Her blog on the British Bankers’ Association website, Karina’s Kolumn at the BBA, has now become Karinascolumn.com, a confidential look at finance and other issues. Karina was formerly Political & Economic Correspondent at Bloomberg/TV – among many other roles during her time there – and began her career at merchant bank Morgan Grenfell as the Spanish Equity Analyst.
She was educated in Madrid, at the Hotchkiss School in the US and at the London School of Economics (LSE) where she read Economics/International Relations. She is the former Chairman of the LSE’s Alumni Mentoring Committee and sits on the judging panel for Women in the City. Additionally, she is a Freeman and a member of the City Affairs Committee of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers, Chairman of the Editorial Board of LID Publishing UK, as well as a member of the Kilfinan Group, which mentors the CEOs of charities.
